NGA Staffing Featured As Stemco, Suzuki Gears Up To Seek New Hires At Job Fairs This Week!

Two Rome manufacturers are looking to hire more than 65 new employees in the next couple of weeks.Suzuki Manufacturing of America, 1520 Technology Parkway, is seeking to fill at least 15 positions and Stemco Brake, 113 Hemlock St., needs to bring on more than 50 new employees.All of the positions will be filled through North Georgia Staffing, which will host a job fair for the Suzuki positions Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at 90 E. Callahan St.A job fair for Stemco will take place Friday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Stemco Rome facility behind the Georgia Northwestern Technical College campus in Rome.Brandi Ingram, regional manager for North Georgia Staffing, said the Suzuki positions are temporary. Employees who are brought on board and stay for at least three months will be eligible for a $300 bonus.

Those who stay with the company for at least six months will be eligible for another $300 bonus.Suzuki makes All-Terrain Vehicles, which are distributed around the globe. The company is looking for assembly line workers as well as some machinery operators.

The Stemco positions carry the potential for full-time employment. Ingram said occupational safety training and orientation are scheduled to start Monday.“Each week we’re going to have a group of 20-30 people for OSHA and orientation, and they will start to work on that third day,” she said.

Stemco is initially seeking 12 to 16 material handlers and machinery operators.“They are going to keep the top-notch people. That’s what they’re telling us,” Ingram said.

The company, which makes brake and suspension components, received a $6 million bond package in July 2013 from the Rome-Floyd Development Authority for an expansion.Stemco committed to the creation of at least 50 new jobs as part of that bond package.

NGA Staffing, a full-service employment and human resources consulting company at 1301 Shiloh Road in Kennesaw, was awarded the Kennesaw Business Association’s “Business of the Year for 2013” at the KBA December lunch meeting.

 The company, owned by Debbie and Larry Underkoffler, began in 2009 and has grown to five offices and four onsite offices.
